Maddin will be here Feb. 20-21 with the full schedule of
events as follows
Thursday (2/20): 6PM Lecture in L160 Elvehjem Hall on "The Theme of Loss in Cinema"
Friday (2/21): there will be two separate events, both in 4070 Vilas Hall
First, a 2PM screening of MY WINNIPEG, followed immediately by a panel discussion regarding Maddin's use of objects and space in his film. Panelists include film maker Guy Maddin, Jim Healy from the Film Studies Dept, our own Ann Smart Martin, Stefan Osdene who is a Material Culture Graduate Student and PhD Candidate, and Andrea Stanislav who is a mixed-media artist associated with the University of Minnesota.
Then, at 7PM, a double screening of films that influenced Maddin's career, followed by Q+A
It promises to be a full and interesting two days; please join us for one or all of the events!
